    We call the jak tree in rice tree. We can find a jak tree in almost every home garden. It is a big tree. The leaves are small and dark green in colour. Jak is an important food supplement to sri lankans. Jak is very nutritious. Properly boiled jak and scraped coconut is a tasty meal. Very young jak fruits are called "polos". It is very delicious cirry and the polos mallum is a tasty too. The ripe jak fruits are very delicious. Therefore the jak tree is very important to sri lankans.
